(a) Meaning, Nature and Importance of Counselling
Types of Counselling—(i) Directive: Meaning, Characteristics, Purpose and Functions; (ii) Non-directive: Meaning, Characteristics, Purpose and Functions; and (iii) Eclectic: Meaning, Characteristics, Purpose and Functions.
(b) Steps of Counselling; Characteristics of good Counsellor—personality characteristics and ability to establish rapport and to understand empathetically.
